Copy the post’s link
In the X app, tap Share on the post, then Copy link.

Paste it into FetchBolt
Open the X video downloader in Safari and paste the link.

Download the MP4
Tap Download on the best quality. When Safari asks, tap Download.

Save to Photos
Open Files → Downloads, tap the video, then Share → Save Video.
GIFs from X
X stores GIFs as short videos, so they download as MP4s. They loop in Photos when you set them to Loop, or you can share them as videos.
Posts with several videos
If a post has more than one video, FetchBolt lists each one so you can save them separately.
The tool for the job
Everything above uses the X (Twitter) Video Downloader. MP4 in each quality X provides (often 1080p, 720p and 480p). GIFs download as small looping MP4s.
Questions
Does it work with twitter.com links?
Yes. x.com, twitter.com and links from the X app all work.
Can I download from private accounts?
No. Only public posts can be downloaded.
